Lifetime Guarantee & Warranty
Last updated: May 21, 2026
Our Promise
Every porcelain memorial portrait we produce is kiln-fired at approximately 1450°F, which fuses the image permanently into the ceramic. We guarantee that your portrait will not fade, peel, wash off, or be damaged by normal outdoor weather conditions for the lifetime of the original purchaser.
What's Covered
- Fading of the fired image caused by ultraviolet (UV) sunlight exposure.
- Peeling, flaking, or separation of the image from the porcelain substrate.
- Image loss caused by rain, snow, ice, frost, or normal outdoor temperature cycles.
- Manufacturing defects in the porcelain itself (e.g., kiln cracking, mis-fired image).
If a covered defect occurs, we will replace the portrait at no cost to you, including production and standard ground shipping within the United States. Replacement is the sole remedy under this warranty.
What's Not Covered
- Physical damage caused by impact, vandalism, attempted removal, abrasive cleaning, harsh chemicals, pressure washers, or accident.
- Damage caused by improper installation (e.g., mounting on an unstable surface, using an incompatible adhesive).
- Damage caused by acts of nature outside normal weather (earthquake, flood, fire, tornado, hurricane, etc.).
- Minor variations in color, tone, or finish between pieces, or between the digital proof and the final fired portrait — these are inherent to the kiln-firing process.
- Damage to or tarnishing of bronze frames or hardware, which carry the manufacturer's separate finish warranty.
- Loss or damage caused by the shipping carrier after delivery (carriers carry their own insurance; we will help you file a claim within 14 days of expected delivery).
- Limitations inherent to the photograph you submitted (low resolution, motion blur, damaged original) — see our Refund Policy.
How to File a Warranty Claim
- Email admin@headstoneportraits.com with your order number, the original purchaser's name, and a brief description of the issue.
- Include clear photographs of the portrait showing the defect, from at least two angles.
- We will review your claim within 5 business days and, if covered, ship a replacement portrait at no cost.
Who's Covered
This warranty extends to the original purchaser of the portrait (the family or monument company who placed the order) and is not transferable. Proof of purchase (order number or order confirmation email) is required for any claim.
Care Recommendations
To keep your portrait looking its best for as long as possible, clean it gently with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive scrubbing pads, pressure washers, ammonia, bleach, or any solvent-based cleaner. Avoid striking the porcelain with hard objects during installation or grounds maintenance.
Legal Notes
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. Our total liability under this warranty is limited to replacement of the affected portrait or, at our sole option, a refund of the original purchase price of that portrait. We are not liable for installation costs, removal costs, cemetery fees, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
